Manu National Reserve : How to see the largest and most remarkable protected places in the world and the unique wildlife that host or shelter great diversity of species of wildlife and flora. There is a remote, almost inaccessible corner of Peru called (Manu Biosphere Reserve), which is bordered by powerful rivers and mountains that modern man has not touched much of these protected areas. This reserve starts from the high altitude grasslands of the Andes to the cloud forests and the thick Amazon jungle that is formed in the Manú National Park that encompasses a unique desert that UNESCO recognized as a Biosphere Reserve before declaring it a World Heritage Site. in 1987 (Manu National Reserve). Its wide range of habitats, covering an area nearly half the size of Switzerland, means that the Manu National Park is home to a wealth of life, so much so that late last year it was discovered to have the highest terrestrial biodiversity of any area protected on Earth that is located in Peru (Manu Reserve).
Access to much of the Manú National Park is restricted, such is the desire to keep it intact.
However, go up the adjoining Cultural Zone, a buffer zone where Native communities and communities live and work, and you can enter the park to explore the ancient rock art of the Amazonians in Manu Biosphere Reserve (cocha otorongo, cocha salvador, pakitza and the Cocha Cashu Biological Station to get to take a boat on the Madre de Dios River and then the Manu River where you can see jaguars, alligators, and hundreds of species of birds. to get to Manu you descend from the Andes to the rich broth of life that is Manú with different stops to get to the manu national park

Tour Amazon Day 01: Cusco Ninamarca paucartambo – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata Lodge
We leave Cusco early in the morning to start our adventurous trip! First, we are taken by private transport to the place called Ninamarca to observe pre-Incan “chullpas” (tombs) of the Lupaca’s culture. Then, we continue to Paucartambo, a colonial town with narrow streets and beautiful church, where people still keep their old customs. Later, we ascend to Acjanaco Pass (3,550 masl) considered as an entrance to the Manu National Park and then we get to the viewpoint Tres Cruces de Oro (3,700 masl) to watch one of the best sunrises of the world! From there, we start descending to the edge of the Manu jungle passing first an elfin forest and there a cloud forest where we can view a cock of the rock, hummingbirds, strikingly coloured quetzals, trogons, spotted flycatcher and woolly monkey. From flora, we can view a variety of orchids, mosses, ferns, etc. Finally, we get to Pilcopata (700 masl) where our first accommodation – Pilcopata Lodge is placed. We can refresh ourselves there having a shower and after that, we are served dinner, before we get to bed.
Tour Amazon Day 02: Atalaya Port -Rainforest Lodge -Machuwasi Lake – Manu Park
After breakfast we will continue our journey in private transfer (an hour and a half) to the port of Atalaya (500 masl) from there we will embark on our motorbike to continue our journey through the Madre de Dios River along the Rocky banks observe wilderness as birds, turtles, lizards sunbathing on the beaches then we will arrive at our hostel Rainfores where we will accommodate in our respective rooms of the lunch we will explore the forest to observe great diversity of species, for example, tarantulas, ants , Butterflies, some species of monkeys and huge trees, erotic plants, palm trees, etc. After that, we will return to our hostel for lunch and then we will visit the Machuhuasi cocha where we will walk on a typical catamaran to observe a great variety of birds, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans and insects, groups of turtles and perhaps some rum punches ( Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris) After this unforgettable walk we will return to our lodge, dinner and overnight stay in Hostel with bathrooms and showers available.
Tour Amazon Day 03: Rainforest Lodge to Parrot Clay Lick – Atalaya port Return to Cusco City .
After breakfast, we board a motor boat taking us to a 10 minute far away clay-lick of parrots, budgerigars and aras (guacamayo) which is an unforgettable experience! After this activity, we return to the lodge to have breakfast. Then we re-board our boat to start returning. Our first stop is in the Atalaya Port where our private vehicle awaits us to take us back to Cusco arriving there between 7 and 7:30 pm.
